VUT Application Fees 2025
Vaal University of Technology requires that all applications made for the 2025 academic year be accompanied by the application fee. The fees are charged as follows:
National applicants: R110 – use your Identity number or student number as a reference when making payment. Do NOT use your surname
International applicants: R120 – use your passport number or your student number as a reference when making payment. Do NOT use your surname or home ID number
Application fees that will be considered are those paid for and received after the commencement of the application period. If no application fee is received, your application will not be evaluated.

Application Requirements
The things required for you to be able to apply at VUT
- A working email address
- A working phone number
- South African applicants will need an ID number. Foreign applicants will need their passport number.
- A copy of your school qualifications (i.e Senior Certificate)
- Check the full requirements for each course
You will be required to pay an application fee which changes every year, so consult the admissions office through their contact number: +27 (0)16 950 9356, or their email: [email protected] to know the correct amount to pay.
How to Apply to Vaal University of Technology
If you are ready to begin your application,
- Visit vut.ac.za/apply
- Click on the ‘click here’ button above the ‘Apply Online’ heading
- Click the apply button under the ‘prospective students’ box
- select ‘NO’ under ‘Do you already have a student number’
- select ‘NO’ under ‘Returning to complete application’
- Read and accept the POPI act, then click ‘Next’
- Fill in the form and upload the required documents
- Click the ‘Submit’ button
Once you’ve completed your application, you just have to keep tracking it to know if you will be accepted or not. tracking should be done 4 to 6 weeks after the applications have closed. Download and read this guideline booklet for more information.

How to Track Your Application
Tracking your application at Vaal University of Technology (VUT) is almost the same process as applying, follow the process below to track your application.
- Visit vut.ac.za
- Click on ‘Apply To VUT’
- Click on ‘Application status’
- Enter your Student number, Passport number, or ID number.
