Application Opening And Closing Dates
CUT Applications for 2025 are expected to open in May 2024 and close in September 2024. These dates have not been confirmed and are just assumptions based on the previous opening and closing dates of past CUT applications. There are no 2nd-semester applications at CUT.

Application Requirements
There are no general requirements for applying to Central University of Technology besides your supporting documents (listed below), and your specific course requirements. Also, there are no application fees for applying to CUT, application is free.
Required documents
You are to attach the following documents to your application:
- National ID
- Final Grade 11 results for current Grade 12 Learners
- School leaving certificate/ Final Grade 12 results (if applicable)
- Academic record/transcript with a certificate of conduct, if you have previously studied at another institution (this may be accompanied by a certificate if qualification was completed)
- SAQA evaluation certificate for Non-South African qualifications (if applicable)
How to Apply to CUT
- To begin your applications, visit the CUT application portal
- Click on ‘New Applications’ in the Prospective Student box
- When you see the question ‘Do you already have a student number?’, select NO
- Complete your application and click ‘Submit’
- You will be given a student number as soon as your online application is submitted. This is the number that CUT will use to identify you for any enquiry. Please keep it safe.
How to Check Your Application Status
When you complete your CUT application, you have to track your application from time to time so that you can know if you have been accepted or rejected. Mind you, tracking applications should only be done 4-6 weeks after the application closing date, and that is if the school hasn’t sent any email to you.
