MTN Foundation Scholarship Scheme 2023 – How to Apply

MTN Foundation has begun accepting applications for their annual Scholarship scheme, so if you are a Nigerian student who just finished secondary school and you don’t have the financial capability to attend university, this is for you. The 2023 MTN Foundation scholarship scheme is one of the many ways in which the telecommunications giant gives back to the community. This article contains detailed guidelines on how to apply for this scholarship in 2023.

The MTN Scholarship is of three types;

MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) 2023

This is open to eligible 300-level students studying Science & Technology-related courses, in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education). 300 successful students are awarded scholarships worth N200,000.00 annually till graduation, provided they maintain the required grades.

MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) 2023

This is targeted at eligible 200 and 300-level blind students studying any course in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education). 60 successful blind students are awarded scholarships worth N200,000.00 annually till graduation, provided they maintain the required grades.

Top 10 UTME Scholarship 2023

every year the top 10 scoring candidates of UTME as announced by JAMB, automatically qualify for the top 10 UTME scholarship. The successful candidates are awarded scholarships worth N200,000.00 from their 100 level through to graduation if they maintain the required grades.

How to Be Eligible For MTN Scholarship 2023

For Science and Technology students,

  • You must be a 300-level student of any public tertiary institution in Nigeria.
  • For those in University or College of Education, you must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) score of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (second class upper credit)
  • For those in Polytechnic, you must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.
  • Direct Entry level students must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) program and must have secured admission into 300 level/3rd year in a Public University.

For Blind Students, 

  • For SBS, you must be a blind, 200 or 300-level student of any public tertiary institution in Nigeria.
  • Blind Students in the Universities or Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5
  • Blind Students in Public Polytechnics must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.

How to Apply for MTN Scholarship 2023

  1. Visit apps.mtn.ng/scholarships/form
  2. Select the scholarship you are applying for and click ‘next’
  3. Select your Gender
  4. Select public institution
  5. Select what type of institution
  6. Select current year of study as 300-level
  7. Select the course you are offering
  8. Input your current CGPA
