NBT Registration 2024: How and When to Register

NBT registration for 2024 will soon begin. Registrations for the National Benchmark Test (NBT) will begin on the 3rd of April, 2023. and some universities in South Africa require these test results before giving admission to any of their candidates for the 2023/2024 academic session. This page will provide you with universities that require NBT certification, a detailed guide on how to apply/register for NBT 2024, and the registration requirements.

Below is a list of universities that require NBT certification before you are given admission. If the institution of your choice is mentioned, then you need to register for this test.

Requirements for NBT Registration 2024

  • Your official ID book (if you are not a citizen of South Africa, you will need your passport)
  • A unique email address
  • City and site where you want to write
  • NBT requirements from the institution where you plan to apply
  • Date when you want to write (allow 4 weeks for the institution(s) to which you have applied to receive your results. You can access your results on our website after 5 weeks.)
  • Pen and paper to record your username and EasyPay number.

How to Apply/Register

In order to sucessfully register for NBT, follow the steps below:

  1. Click this link to begin your registration.
  2. Fill in your Personal Information
  3. Fill in your contact Information,
  4. Select the venue where you would like to write your test.
  5. fill in the survey section

After registering, you will now be able to book a NBT test. If you have previously registered but just want to make some changes, use this link instead. Two days before the test for which you have registered, you will receive an sms and an email confirming your test venue. Make sure to double check the date and venue of your test in order to avoid missing it.

The following should be noted

  • The NBT Project does not determine which test you must write nor the deadline for submitting results. Most institutions in South Africa post their requirements on their website and in their prospectus.
  • The username and EasyPay number assigned to you during registration are used to:
    • Complete the registration process if you did not finish
    • Correct personal information
    • Request change to test date or site
    • Verify payment so that your results may be released
  • Registration is date- and venue-specific. If you miss your scheduled test, you must re-register and pay again. You will be able to access your results only if you have paid for any tests for which you were registered.
