NSFAS Appeal Application 2024 – Apply Now

NSFAS appeal application 2024 is now open. The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) application will close on 15 February and applications will no longer be accepted. If you applied and your application is rejected, you can submit an NSFAS appeal application. This appeal will make the financial aid scheme re-evaluate the application and your rejection could become an approval.

NSFAS will, upon making the funding decisions, commence with the appeals process in order to ensure that appeals decision are communicated to students and the institutions on time.

According to NSFAS, over 100,000 applications have been rejected, so if you are one of these rejected students, make sure you try again by submitting/applying for an appeal.

NSFAS Appeal 2024 Opening Date

The NSFAS appeal opened on 11th February 2024. Applicants whose applications have been rejected have 30 days to submit an appeal. These 30 days start counting from the day the application status was published. Many applicants said that they have received no response to their application, but the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Buti Manamela, has said that the issue will be rectified.

How to Apply for an NSFAS Appeal

  1. Visit the myNSFAS website.
  2. Log into your account.
  3. Click on ‘Track Funding Progress’.
  4. Check the application progress tabs.
  5. If your application status is ‘unsuccessful’, you can submit an appeal by clicking on ‘Submit Appeal’. This will take you to the appeal page, where you can see the reason your application was rejected/unsuccessful
  6. Choose the appeal reason
  7. Upload certified supporting documents to support your reason.
  8. Click ‘Submit Appeal’.

NSFAS Consent Form

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is calling on all applicants to submit their consent form to finalise their bursary application. The consent form ensures NSFAS compliance with all SARS requirements. If you don’t submit this form, the outcome of your application will be delayed. All applicants, except Sassa grant beneficiaries, are required to download the NSFAS consent form, complete it, and upload it to their account.
