NSFAS Online Application 2024 – Apply Now

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) will soon begin its online application for 2024, so if you are a student and you want to apply for this grant, you should start preparing now to apply.

NSFAS is a government-run body under the Department of Higher Education and Training. NSFAS offers financial assistance to eligible students at TVET colleges and public universities. applications will soon begin. NSFAS online application for the 2024 academic year will begin on September 2023 and close on January 2024.

What does The NSFAS Bursary Cover?

If you become a recipient of this bursary, the following expenses will be covered:

  • Tuition Fees
  • Accommodation: NSFAS covers the cost of on-campus or off-campus student housing.
  • Textbooks and study materials: You will be provided with a study allowance to purchase the required textbooks and materials for your course.
  • Meals: The bursary also provides a meal allowance to help cover the cost of food while you are studying.
  • Travel expenses: A travel allowance will be provided to help cover the cost of travel to and from campus.

NSFAS 2024 Online Application Process

This is the process you’ll need to follow to ensure that you successfully apply for this 2024 grant. NSFAS may need more information from you to process your application, check what supporting documents are required, and ensure that you have all the relevant information.

Application Requirements

You will need the following to complete your NSFAS application;

  • Your own cellphone number and email address
  • Copy of your ID or birth certificate
  • Copies of parents, guardian or spouse ID (If applicable)
  • Your proof of income or 1 year’s IRP5 (if applicable)
  • Your parents, guardian or spouse’s proof of income
  • If you are a SASSA grant recipient, no proof of income will be required
  • Applicants with a disability must submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form, click here to download
  • An applicant who is recognised as a Vulnerable Child by the Department of Social Development must provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form, click here to download.

How to Apply

  1. Visit NSFAS Application website
  2. Create a myNSFAS account.
  3. Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab
  4. Update your personal information
  5. Answer the questions you see on the screen
  6. Upload all the required supporting documents and submit

NSFAS Status Check
