The University of South Africa (Unisa) has now opened its registration for 2024. Unisa is the largest university in South Africa, and a lot of students are expected to start registering for their academic programmes, so the school management made the time frame for registering long enough.
Registration for all programmes began on 10th January 2024 and is open to qualified students registering for short-term learning programmes, undergraduate, postgraduate, and honours qualifications, and Master’s & doctoral qualifications. This article will provide a complete guide on registering for any programmes, their opening and closing dates, and requirements.
Unisa Registration Opening and Closing Dates 2024
Below is a list of the opening and closing dates that the University of South Africa has allocated for registration:

Note that these are registration closing dates for semester modules and registration for all year Modules will end on 22nd March 2024.
How To Register at UNISA in 2024
- Visit the Unisa registration portal
- Click the button that is labeled the programme you want to register for
- Click the “Start the process” button
- Select the college where your qualification is located
- Find and select your desired qualification
- Select your modules
- Calculate your study fees
- Calculate your fees for prescribed books, additional study materials, and miscellaneous
Note that only new applicants & current Unisa students who applied for admission to a new qualification may register if they have received an offer of placement from Unisa and have accepted the offer online. Unisa reserves the right to not process and/or cancel your registration if it is found that you were incorrectly admitted to a qualification.
Required documents for UNISA Registration 2024
Applicants who want to start a new program should upload all required supporting files, such as these:
- A copy of your passport and ID (for international students only; ID documents for RSA students only).
- A copy of your diploma from school, senior certificate, and national certificate.
- A copy of your divorce decree or marriage certificate, if applicable.
- If required, a copy of your official academic resume.
Documents that are not in Afrikaans or English must be translated.

All fees must be paid into the Unisa official bank account with the correct reference number or else the university will not be able to process your registration before the relevant closing date. Use the following details:
