University of Johannesburg (UJ) Registration 2024

The University of Johannesburg (UJ) has started its registration process for 2024. The registration began on 15th January 2024 and UJ expects its students to register for their qualifications online i.e. off-campus registration. The university management has advised students to register as early as possible due to programmes being filled during the first few days of registration. Spaces cannot be guaranteed. Registration is open to:

  • First-time University of Johannesburg applicants (who were given admission)
  • University of Johannesburg students changing to a new qualification and/or specialization
  • Applicants who previously applied for admission and were not offered a space, or who were offered a space, accepted the offer and did not register
  • students completing a higher certificate or any other programme and who wish to continue with further undergraduate studies

UJ Registration Dates 2024

Below are the opening and closing dates of registration for different sets of students:

How to Register at The University of Johannesburg for 2024

Log onto the registration portal via ulink.uj.ac.za using your STUDENT NUMBER and PASSWORD. If you do not have a password,
click on CREATE A PASSWORD to continue.

After completing your registration, remember to review your Proof of Registration to ensure that you have registered for the correct
qualification and all relevant modules for the qualification for the entire year. The responsibility to ensure that you have registered for
the correct qualifications and modules remains with you.

UJ Registration Fees 2024

Before registering for any qualification at the University of Johannesburg, students are expected to pay the following minimum amounts:

  • Day students (tuition fees) – All students not residing in the residences: R5 560,00
  • Residence students (tuition fees and residence deposit)
    • Only students with acceptance letters from residences: R9 270,00
    • Residence students (provisionally selected/waiting for a space in residence): R5 560,00

These fees also include a registration fee (R650,00) and an ICT levy (R500,00) which are non-refundable. International registering students based on the temporary residence visa are required to make an upfront payment of 40% of the full fees due to the University.

Cancellation of Studies at UJ

If after completing your registration, you decide that you don’t want to study at the University of Johannesburg anymore, you can cancel on or before the following dates:

No Fees Payable: This means that all fees paid for a semester or year will be fully refunded if cancellation is done on or before that date, except the registration fee and ICT levy which are non-refundable.

75% Credit Granted: This means that 75% of fees paid for a semester or year will be fully refunded if cancellation is done on or before that date, except the registration fee and ICT levy which are non-refundable.

50% Credit Granted: This means that 50% of fees paid for a semester or year will be fully refunded if cancellation is done on or before that date, except the registration fee and ICT levy which are non-refundable.

No Credit Granted: This means that none of the fees paid for a semester or year will be fully refunded if cancellation is done on or before that date, except the registration fee and ICT levy which are non-refundable.
