University of Western Cape (UWC) Registration 2024

The University of Western Cape (UWC) has stated its online registration for 2024. The registration began on 10 January 2024 for returning students and will begin on 22 January 2024 for New students.

Returning Undergraduate, Honours and Postgraduate Diploma/Certificate, PhD and Masters students are advised to start their registration before the deadline because late registrations will not be considered. Applicants/Students will need to access the Student Portal at various stages of their registration

UWC Registration Deadline 2024

The following are the deadlines/closing dates for registration of different sets of students at the University of Western Cape:

  • Undergraduate (returning), Honours and PG diploma/certificate – 09 February 2024.
  • PhD and Masters (new and returning) – 09 February 2024.
  • New and First Time Entry – 02 February 2024.

How to Register

  1. Visit the UWC Student Portal
  2. To log in enter your Student Number and ID/Passport number.
  3. click on the “Select modules for registration” link.
  4. Verify that all information is correct. If there are any errors please contact the Contact Centre
  5. Select Failed modules (if any), Select Compulsory modules, Select Elective modules (if any)
  6. Confirm your module selection
  7. View cost per module and combined cost
  8. Finally, accept the terms and conditions.

And you are done. You will be emailed your timetable or you can download it after registration and as soon as the faculty have cleared their clashes.  You may contact the UWC Contact Centre on the following numbers: +27 21 959 3900/3901.

UWC Registration Fees 2024

Students at the University of Western Cape are required to make the following upfront payment via EFT or the online card payment link before beginning their registration process:

South African Students

  • students not in university residences: R4290 (to be paid before registration)
  • students placed at university residences: R4840 (to be paid before registration)

International Students: All international students are required to pay the full tuition and residence fees upfront, before beginning their registration process.

NSFAS funded Students

Students funded by NSFAS at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) will be assisted through the Financial Aid Office at [email protected]. Once NSFAS provides funding confirmation, the Financial Aid Office will vet the information and then relay financial clearance instructions to the Student Credit Management. Upon receiving these instructions, Student Credit Management will issue clearance, and students will be notified via SMS to proceed with the registration process. Any inquiries regarding NSFAS funding should be directed to [email protected].

Students With Full-cost and Partial Corporate bursaries

UWC students with full or partial bursaries must submit documentation to [email protected] for vetting before registration. Financial Aid will clear eligible students, and Student Credit Management will confirm clearance via SMS notifying the students to proceed with registration.

External bursary recipients must provide proof and, if covering its full tuition, they will pay only the R1660 registration fee. Bursary documents can be uploaded to https://studentdebt.uwc.ac.za/, and inquiries should be directed to [email protected].

Payment Methods

All payments for the UWC registration must be made to the University of the Western Cape. Fees may be paid using the following methods:

  • Cash, debit cards, and credit cards at our cashiers on the Ground floor, UWC Administration Building West Wing
  • Electronic funds transfer (EFT)
  • Credit card payments will be accepted online at www.uwc.ac.za, and
  • Postal order or foreign draft using the account details supplied below.

Please note:

  • Payments may take up to two (2) business days for local and seven (7) business days for international transactions to reflect on our system.
  • Credit card payments may take up to ten (10) business days to reflect on our system.
  • Deposit slips of UWC receipts must be retained.
  • Please ensure that you use your student number in all future communications with the university.
  • A service levy will be raised on dishonoured debit order payments.
