The University of Western Cape (UWC) has stated its online registration for 2024. The registration began on 10 January 2024 for returning students and will begin on 22 January 2024 for New students.
Returning Undergraduate, Honours and Postgraduate Diploma/Certificate, PhD and Masters students are advised to start their registration before the deadline because late registrations will not be considered. Applicants/Students will need to access the Student Portal at various stages of their registration
UWC Registration Deadline 2024
The following are the deadlines/closing dates for registration of different sets of students at the University of Western Cape:
- Undergraduate (returning), Honours and PG diploma/certificate – 09 February 2024.
- PhD and Masters (new and returning) – 09 February 2024.
- New and First Time Entry – 02 February 2024.
How to Register
- Visit the UWC Student Portal
- To log in enter your Student Number and ID/Passport number.
- click on the “Select modules for registration” link.
- Verify that all information is correct. If there are any errors please contact the Contact Centre
- Select Failed modules (if any), Select Compulsory modules, Select Elective modules (if any)
- Confirm your module selection
- View cost per module and combined cost
- Finally, accept the terms and conditions.

UWC Registration Fees 2024
Students at the University of Western Cape are required to make the following upfront payment via EFT or the online card payment link before beginning their registration process:
South African Students
- students not in university residences: R4290 (to be paid before registration)
- students placed at university residences: R4840 (to be paid before registration)
International Students: All international students are required to pay the full tuition and residence fees upfront, before beginning their registration process.
NSFAS funded Students
Students funded by NSFAS at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) will be assisted through the Financial Aid Office at [email protected]. Once NSFAS provides funding confirmation, the Financial Aid Office will vet the information and then relay financial clearance instructions to the Student Credit Management. Upon receiving these instructions, Student Credit Management will issue clearance, and students will be notified via SMS to proceed with the registration process.
