Walter Sisulu University’s (WSU) management will soon start accepting applications for the 2025 academic session, so if you are a high school leaver who plans to study at this university in 2025, now is the time to start preparing your application.

Walter Sisulu University is a higher institution located within the Eastern Cape Province in South Africa. WSU offers a diverse range of academic programs across multiple faculties, including Business, Engineering, Health Sciences, Natural Sciences, Education, and Humanities. These programs are designed to prepare students for successful careers in a rapidly changing global economy.

Application Opening and Closing dates

Application to Walter Sisulu University for 2025 is expected to begin in October 2023 and end in the same month. This is an assumption based on the application dates of previous applications.  Late applications might not be accepted so endeavour to apply as early as possible.

Requirements for the WSU Application

To save your money and time make sure you have the following information ready before beginning your application:

One of the following certificates will be requested from you during your application:

1. The “Old Senior” certificate
2. The National Senior Certificate “NSC”
3. National Certificate Vocational “NCV”
4. N6 certificate

Students currently in grade 12 must upload their Grade 11 final exams as well as any first-quarter or mid-year results that are available. Candidates for post-matriculation must provide a copy of their matriculation or equivalent certificate, academic transcript, and ID or passport.

Walter Sisulu University requires you to turn the following documents into soft copies which you would upload to the portal when applying online. Students transferring from another university must submit the following documents:

• Matric Certificate
• Post-matric certificate;
• Identity document;
• Official academic report;
• Conduct certificate

International Applicants

If you are an international applicant, you need to apply to Universities South Africa (USAF) first, so that your school results or other degree/diploma certificates will be properly evaluated. When you receive your results from Usaf, you can now begin your application process and upload the results and a copy of your passport.

WSU Application Fee

There is no fee to be paid because applications to WSU are free. The university only accepts online applications which are considered a free service where no payments such as an application fee are required.

3. Use your E-Mail and other details to create an account
4. Begin your application
5. Fill in all the requested information
6. Upload the documents
7. Click the ‘submit’ button

After submitting your application, you will receive an email at the E-Mail address you used to register. The mail will contain the next steps you should take.
